Salt Lake Search and Rescue and Life Flight assists in hoist of hiker near Hogle Zoo

Salt Lake City, Utah – On Sunday, Salt Lake Search and Rescue and Life Flight were called to assist in the hoist of a hiker who was in need of support in getting off of a mountain Sunday.
Crews arrived in the Salt Lake City area recently and were able to locate the hiker within seconds.
According to Officer Walker with the Salt Lake City Fire Department, crews made it to the mountain and are transporting the hiker to where a helicopter can access them.
Crews are expected to land at the command post near the Hogle Zoo to drop off the hiker.
The condition of the hiker and the reasoning for the assist and hoist are unknown.
