Utah Man Accused Of Assaulting Woman He Asked To Taser Him
A man from West Valley City is accused of assaulting a woman that he allegedly asked to use a taser on him when he had panic attacks.
Ashten Lawrence, 20, was booked into the Salt Lake County jail. He has charges of assault, a class B misdemeanor, and aggravated assault, which is a third-degree felony.
Lawrence began having a panic attack during an argument on January 2nd.
The affidavit states that the woman told police that Lawrence had given her a taser for Christmas and told her “to use it on him if he ever went into a panic attack because he would become violent during said panic attacks.”
The woman told police that she feared for her safety and used it on the back of Lawrence’s neck, according to KUTV.
According to the affidavit, this made Lawrence angry. He then hit her in the face multiple times, causing a significant contusion on the woman’s eye.
According to police, the woman was dragged on the floor. The man then placed his hands over her nose and mouth, constricting her breathing for at least five seconds.
