1 dead after Thursday rollover crash on I-15 near Fillmore

FILLMORE, Millard County — A man died after a pickup truck rolled over on I-15 near Fillmore early Thursday morning, authorities said.

The crash took place about 5:15 a.m. on I-15 several miles north of Fillmore, according to a news release from the Utah Highway Patrol.

A 2008 Ram pickup truck that was hauling a large flatbed trailer entered the freeway, and about a mile later, the trailer started fishtailing, the release said. The trailer kept fishtailing until the driver lost control of the truck, which went sideways into the median and rolled.

A male passenger in the truck was ejected, the release said. He was taken to a hospital but later died from his injuries.

A second passenger in the truck suffered serious injuries, but is expected to survive. The driver of the truck suffered only minor injuries.

Further information about the crash, including the identities of those involved, was not released Thursday.
