COVID-19 surge continues in Utah with 2,247 new cases and two new deaths reported Monday
SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health reported 2,247 new cases of COVID-19 and an additional two deaths Monday.
The rolling seven-day average of new cases in Utah is now at 2,437 per day, and the average percent of positive test results is at 21.2 %.
444 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in the state. 185 of those patients are in the ICU (41.7%). Statewide, 74.7% of ICU beds are occupied with COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients.
The additional deaths reported Monday bring Utah’s death toll to 661.
They include:
- A male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- A male, between 65-84, Washington County resident, hospitalized at time of death
