Utah Reports 364 New COVID-19 Cases, 8 New Deaths, 139 Current Hospitalizations
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Department of Health on Wednesday reported 364 new COVID-19 cases and eight new deaths.
The rolling seven day average for positive tests is 346 per day, or 8.9% of those tested. The state has tested 610,362 people so far, and 47,521 of those tests returned positive.
There are 139 patients currently hospitalized with the virus, 63 of which are in intensive care units. Another 19 patients are currently hospitalized as COVID-19 persons under investigation. UDOH reports 47.8% off all non-ICU beds and 63.1% of all ICU beds in Utah hospitals are occupied.
A total of 377 Utahns have died so far. The following deaths were reported Wednesday:
- Male, between 45 and 64, Cache County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Female, between 65 and 84, San Juan County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Male, between 65 and 84, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Male, between 65 and 84, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Female, older than 85, Utah County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Male, between 65 and 84, Utah County resident, hospitalized prior to death
- Male, between 45 and 64, Weber County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Female, between 65 and 84, Weber County resident, hospitalized at time of death
The state is considering 38,883 cases as recovered, meaning those patients received a positive diagnosis more than three weeks ago and they have not died.
