7-year-old child shot and killed in Heber
Wasatch County, Utah – A deadly shooting took the life of a girl in Heber, Friday.
According to the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office, on June 9, the police received a call from a man stating he was on his way to the Heber Valley Hospital with his 7-year-old daughter.
Deputies said at 10:50 p.m., doctors began treating the child for a gunshot wound and an investigation became underway.
According to deputies, they rushed to the scene of the crime: the Wasatch Commons Apartments. They say shortly after arriving, a gunshot was heard within the area and the team discovered three intoxicated individuals. All of them were taken into custody.
According to the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office, at about 11:30 p.m., the girl died in the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing. Police ask anyone with information to contact 911 or call their tip line at 435-654-WCSO.
