Utah passes 7,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases, reports one new death
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — The Utah Department of Health has released the latest COVID-19 numbers.
As of Saturday afternoon, there are now 7,068 lab-confirmed cases. That’s an increase of 155 from Friday’s total of 6,913.
Approximately 3,556 more people have been tested, bringing the state-wide total to 166,774.
578 people have been hospitalized in connection to the virus since March.
One new death has been reported, bringing the total to 78.
The newly reported death was a Salt Lake County woman between the ages of 18-59 who was a resident at a long-term care facility.
An estimated 3,896 people have recovered, which is approximately 55% of all confirmed cases.
