A 67-year-old woman killed in Idaho ATV crash
Utah – A 67-year-old woman from Utah was killed Thursday in an ATV crash on an Idaho trail.
According to Idaho State Police, Chikay Cole, 67, was traveling north on Smith Canyon Road, east of Interstate 15 and South of Lava Hot Springs in Idaho. Riding on the 2019 Polaris ATV with her was Kerry Cole, 67 also of Sandy and both were wearing helmets.
“Chikay failed to negotiate a turn and both riders were ejected from the ATV,” police said.
At this time It is not clear from police reports where on the trail the accident happened and it is not known if the two were alone or part of a larger group.
Chikay Cole died from her injuries at the site of the accident. Kerry Cole was taken by air to a hospital in Pocatello. The family has been notified of the accident and death.
Idaho State Police will continue to investigate the crash.
