COVID-19 In Utah: Two More Deaths, 149 New Cases

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Department of Health on Wednesday announced two new deaths related to the coronavirus and 149 new confirmed cases.

There have been 3,445 total confirmed cases in the state so far, with 34 total deaths.

According to the UDOH, 288 total patients have been hospitalized, and 76,460 people have been tested.

State epidemiologist Angela Dunn said the two patients were both people older than 85 years old. One was a resident of Salt Lake County and was a resident of a long-term care facility. The other was a resident of Utah County and was hospitalized at the time of death.

An estimated 970 Utahns have recovered from COVID-19.

Gov. Gary Herbert said the trend is going in the right direction, which has allowed the state to resume some elective surgeries.
