SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – New Utah men’s basketball head coach Craig Smith is working hard recruiting and re-recruiting players like Collin Chandler.

Less than one week on the job and Craig Smith is doing everything he can to rebuild the Utah basketball program and is off to a great start after re-offering Farmington star guard Collin Chandler.

On Wednesday night, Chandler tweeted that he had a conversation with Smith and received an offer from him to play at Utah.

“I’m honored to have gotten to know Coach Smith with his time at Utah State and am excited to be re-offered a scholarship at the University of Utah,” Chandler tweeted. “Thank you so much Coach Smith and go Utes!”

Chandler received an offer from Larry Krystkowiak and his staff back on August 24, 2020. The Farmington star is in the 2022 recruiting class. He has three offers as of right now from Dixie State, Stanford and Utah. As a combo-guard, Chandler is a four-star recruit according to 247Sports. He hasn’t received a star rating from the 247Sports composite. Chandler is the No. 3 rated recruit in the state of Utah in the 2022 class according to 247Sports and the No. 80 prospect in the nation and No. 12 combo guard.

To this point – whether under Smith or Krystkowiak – Utah has issued five offers to 2022 prospects, including four-star point guard Dylan Andrews from Los Angeles, California. Also, four-star shooting guard Fletcher Loyer from Fort Wayne, Indiana, who has already verbally committed to Purdue. Other offers include small forward Bobi Klintman from Sweden, Jaxon Kohler and Collin Chandler.
