Ghorbani concedes close Salt Lake County Councilwoman race to Stringham
SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah — After realizing she was going to fall short in the race for Salt Lake County Councilwoman, Shireen Ghorbani conceded the race Monday to Laurie Stringham.
In a post to Twitter, Ghorbani acknowledged her loss in which she lost by less than 1,200 votes.
“Team Shireen, We came up short in this race. We lost by 1,196 votes out of over 508,000 votes cast in this election, just 0.024%. I congratulate Laurie Stringham as the next Salt Lake County Councilwoman in this seat.”
