Salt Lake City, Utah – The Utah Hockey Club’s first-ever season opener is this Tuesday, and the team is so excited about it that they want to make sure everyone can enjoy the opening night celebrations, including those without tickets. The excitement has reached Stanley Cup proportions.

The Chicago Blackhawks will play the Utah Hockey Club at 8 p.m. to kick off the team’s inaugural season in Salt Lake City.

The team is hosting a free outdoor event at Delta Center starting at 4 p.m. that includes food trucks, DJs, interactive games, and music before the puck drops.

Country music sensation Shaboozey will take the stage outside the arena during the celebration on 300 West between South Temple and 100 South, starting at 5:30 p.m. After the event, pilots from Hill Air Force Base’s 388th and 419th Fighter Wings will do an F-35A flyover.

The pre-game party will transform into a watch party after the puck drops, allowing spectators to watch the action on large screens located on either end of 300 West.

“October 8 is going to be a day to remember, and we want the entire community to enjoy it,” team owner Ryan Smith said. “Whether fans are tuning in from home, experiencing the action inside the arena, or enjoying the hours-long festivities on the Delta Center plaza.” “We can’t wait to share in the energy and excitement of what’s ahead with everyone. We have a lot planned.”

ESPN will telecast from the venue prior to its coverage of the game.

Former NHL players Mark Messier and P.K. Subban will be present on the Delta Center plaza all day beginning at 2:00 p.m.
