Jazz trade for Raptors’ Matt Thomas, a career 45.7% 3-point shooter
SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz didn’t do anything splashy before Thursday’s NBA trade deadline, but they did add yet another 3-point shooter to its league-leading arsenal of players who can hit from downtown. The trade was announced by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter.
The Jazz traded a future second-round draft pick to the Toronto Raptors for shooting guard Matt Thomas.
Thomas is a second-year plater out of Iowa State who hasn’t played much, but he does have a 45.7% career 3-point shooting percentage, having made 64 threes in 140 attempts over two seasons, as of March 25, ,2021.
Wojnarowski tweeted: Thomas gives the Jazz another in an endless line of three-point shooters on the team.”
Tony Jones of the Athletic tweeted:Matt Thomas has a guarantee date on his contract for next season, but the Jazz are trading for him with the intention of bringing him back next season, according to sources. They are high on him.”
