Salt Lake City, Utah – Based on preliminary results obtained through unofficial means from the Utah Lt. Governor’s Office, the Associated Press projected that Mike Kennedy and Blake Moore would make it through primary challenges and go on to the general election come November.

After the ballots are counted, the Republican primary winners will compete against Democratic candidates in the general election in November.

Moore is expected to seek reelection to Congress for a third term. The native of Ogden was first chosen to serve as a representative in 2021 and has since been appointed to multiple committees.

According to his website, he is currently a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, which deals with topics related to social security and healthcare.

A large portion of northern Utah, including the counties of Box Elder, Cache, Rich, Weber, Morgan, and Davis, is included in Congressional District 1.

In the general election, Bill Campbell, the Democratic candidate, will compete against the victor of the Republican primary.

The largest geographical district, encompassing a considerable portion of Utah’s western region, is Congressional District 2. It extends to Tooele County in the north and Washington County in the south.

Kennedy is currently putting in a campaign for a seat in the US House of Representatives after serving as the Utah State Senate’s senator since 2013. In the general election, he would go up against Democratic contender Glenn J. Wright, should he win the primary.

On his website, Kennedy lists his additional professions as a small business owner, lawyer, and family doctor.

Prior to winning his primary for the Senate, Rep. John Curtis held the congressional seat. This autumn, the victor will take on Democratic contender Glenn J. Wright in the general election.
Congressional District 3 include Park City and Provo as well as the eastern portion of Utah and sections of Utah County to the west.

Since Burgess Owens is running for office in Congressional District 4, the Republican primary for the position was not held. Since 2021, Owens has been a member of Congress.
