Man Stabs West Valley Restaurant Employee Multiple Times, Police Say
WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – An employee at Ogie’s Café is in the hospital after being stabbed multiple times in the back, police said.
The incident happened outside the restaurant, 3515 S. Redwood Rd., early Friday afternoon.
West Valley City Police said the employee was taking out trash to the rear of the building when an altercation happened with a homeless man. It’s unclear what caused the altercation.
The suspect then stabbed the victim three times in the back with one of the restaurant’s steak knives, authorities said. The of the injures caused a collapsed lung, and the victim will need surgery.
After the alleged attack, the suspect waited in front of the café for police and was arrested without incident.
The suspect is known to police, officials said. He did not seem to be visibly intoxicated.
