Many pet deaths have been recorded in the Avenues district of Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City, Utah – The public is being cautioned by Salt Lake County Animal Services following many complaints of deceased dogs.
“Attention SLC Avenues residents and surrounding areas:” the organization posted on social media Saturday. “Salt Lake County Animal Services has received multiple reports of pets found deceased, suspected to be victims of wildlife attacks.”
Reports state that coyotes have been sighted nearby. Particularly, these animals have a history of attacking and killing cats and small dogs, according to Salt Lake County Animal Services.
“Keep your pets indoors or on a leash when they are outside with you,” the organization stated.
In Utah, other creatures can also pose a threat to pets, including bobcats, cougars, bears, and raccoons.
“Please stay alert and take all necessary precautions to protect your pets,” officials said.
