New child sodomy charges filed against Utah man accused of sex abuse in 2019
A Utah man who was previously found mentally incompetent to stand trial in 2019 for allegedly sexually abusing a 3-year-old girl is now facing new charges involving the same victim.
Padrick Leitz was arrested for aggravated sexual abuse of a child and sodomy on a child after he had reportedly got naked with a 3-year-old girl in 2019, according to ao probable cause affidavit.
The person who reported the incident to police said that Leitz had a “history of being inappropriate with children.” The affidavit states that when the girl was asked if she touched Leitz’s private parts or if he touched hers, she replied “yes.” During an interview with police, Leitz admitted to kissing the girl all over her body.
Leitz was later deemed mentally incompetent to stand trial in the case.
During an interview with authorities at the Weber/Morgan Children’s Justice Center, the victim reportedly spoke about multiple incidents of sex abuse by Leitz. The girl also said Leitz kissed her and “they put their tongues in each other’s mouths.”
Leitz later admitted to the sex abuse during an interview with the police.
