Police: Orem man arrested with $3,980 worth of marijuana, $350 worth of THC

OREM, Utah — A man was arrested Thursday for allegedly having what authorities estimate to be $3,980 worth of marijuana and $350 in THC.
According to probable cause statements, detectives with the Utah County Major Crimes Task Force served a search warrant at the home of Norel Antonio Anderson, 21, and was based on a narcotics investigation that took place over the past 30 to 60 days.
During the search, detectives found a large amount of marijuana, “approximately 398 grams.” Authorities say in the PC statements that one gram of marijuana costs $10, with the total value of the seized marijuana “about $3,980 street value.”
THC extract was also found at the residence, with detectives seizing 7 grams or “approximately 14 single doses.” Authorities say that each dose is valued at $25, with the total value of the extract seized being “about $350 street value.”
Detectives also recovered several drug paraphernalia items, including bongs. Anderson’s two young children, aged one and three years old, were also in the home at the time of the search.
Anderson was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance, and child endangerment.
