Providence woman turns her house into a mystical Halloween destination with a Harry Potter theme

Providence, Utah – You’ll discover a house in Providence that gives you the impression that you’ve been transported to the wizarding realm of Harry Potter.
Laura Vanderbeek spent four years working on her passion project, a Halloween house with a Harry Potter theme.
Vanderbeek revealed that her daughter’s trip to Universal Studios served as her initial inspiration for the Harry Potter displays. It was enjoyable for them to travel to the theme park and celebrate together because, according to her, her daughter was unable to attend a traditional graduation ceremony because of the epidemic.
“When I first walked in, I was like, ‘These signs are really cool.'” I believe it would be enjoyable to sketch these. I wondered what it would be like to draw one of the businesses when I started drawing them. That would be awesome.
That’s exactly what Vanderbeek did, having her illustrations printed into corrugated plastic. After that, she started her own Diagon Alley at home by adding lights to them. You may trace the steps that led to its completion online.
Vanderbeek revealed that her family is creative. She said that her grandma taught her how to sketch and paint and that she was a Walt Disney artist who worked on Snow White and Sleeping Beauty.
“Since the birth of my 22-year-old daughter, I have been utilizing digital art. I drew all of this using Adobe Illustrator on my iPad, having started with digital scrapbooking first,” the woman explained. It’s been a great time. It’s been a fascinating adventure. Along the road, I’ve picked up a lot of talents, but basically I did it for joy and for me. After that, I started making these exquisite Harry Potter stores and hung them from my fence because I reasoned that perhaps my neighbors would find them amusing.
According to Vanderbeek, the exhibit has expanded over time to include an increasing number of well-known locations from the show, including “Ollivanders’ wand shop,” “Madam Malkin’s” gown shop, “Honeydukes’ candies shop,” and “Gringotts Wizarding Bank.” “Scribbulus Writing Implements” and “Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes” are the newest additions, according to Vanderbeek.
According to Vanderbeek, she plans to finish the castle by Halloween of next year and is constantly adding to the décor.
“I hope it makes people happy,” she remarked.
According to Vanderbeek, she also works on 3D printed items and clothing that draws inspiration from the show. When her kid begged to visit Universal Studios, she revealed that she had initially read the books.
As I read the books, I kept thinking, ‘This simply feels right.'” There are folks similar to some of the figures in my life. I believe that the time of the pandemic and everything was somewhat depressing for each of us. I simply wanted more of that because I truly felt like the series brought some brightness and hope into my life.
In terms of Hogwarts Houses, Vanderbeek remarked that she, her husband, daughter, and son all belonged to Ravenclaw. Professor McGonagall is one of her favorite characters, she remarked, adding that she truly represents women assuming their authority.
Vanderbeek remarked, “She’s just strong and really represented a lot for me.”
Until November 1, Vanderbeek’s Harry Potter exhibit is located at 593 East 1080 South in Providence. Lights will stay on from around dark till ten at night, according to Vanderbeek.
She mentioned that there will be even more unique delights on Halloween night, such butter beer and a fog machine for the dragon. She mentioned that you may follow her Instagram profile, @laurelleaflane, to find out more about her crafts and to receive updates.
