Salt Lake City government building boarded up as precaution for violence
SALT LAKE CITY — Out of an abundance of caution, Salt Lake City government buildings have been boarded up ahead of possible violence.
Crews placed boards over windows and doors at the City-County Building at 451 S. State Street on Wednesday.

The move comes as local officials work on plans to keep the public safe following warnings of additional violence after last week’s Trump supporter riots at the U.S. Capitol.
FOX 13 was first to report the Utah State Capitol would remain closed to the general public out of concerns for violent protests. The building was the site of armed protests on the same day as the incident in Washington, D.C.
