Santa teams up with West Valley police to deliver Christmas presents to 159 children
Santa fist-bumps children from an armored West Valley police vehicle during the department’s Giving Tree event in West Valley City on Tuesday. The program provided gifts for 159 children from 51 low-income families in the city that were delivered to their homes by police officers. Each child started with a list of needed items and holiday wishes. Santa’s helpers from the police department, local businesses and the community then worked hard to fulfill the wishes. The Giving Tree program was started by the department’s Community Services section, now known as Community Oriented Policing.
