Search and rescue operation for overdue hiker in Zion National Park
Zion National Park, Utah — Thursday Zion National Park will close a popular section of the park for a search and rescue operation.
According to park spokesperson Amanda Rowland, the search is being conducted to look for an overdue hiker.
The closure of the Narrows will begin at midnight, but did not release any details other than to say it is an “active” search and that shutting down the Narrows “helps our staff in the operations,” officials said.
The gender and identity of the hiker, as well as how long they have been missing are still not released.
It is not known if the search and rescue will take place in other areas of the park.
