Two more names are added to the Utah NHL team’s trademark list
Salt Lake City, Utah – The list of names Utah’s prospective NHL team is trademarking is expanding almost as quickly as the one containing all the people who want to purchase season tickets.
According to documents, the same Uyte, LLC business that submitted applications for the previously revealed nickname contenders also had trademarks for the Utah Ice and Utah Mammoth.
This week, team owner Ryan Smith stated that he would like to run a bracket-style tournament where supporters can select the team’s name. According to an oddsmaker, Blizzard is the betting favorite to take over as the company’s identity.
The names of the teams that will play at the Delta Center this autumn have been trademarked as of this Wednesday:
• Utah Blizzard
• Utah Fury
• Utah HC
• Utah Hockey Club
• UTAH ICE
• UTAH MAMMOTH
• Utah Outlaws
• Utah Venom
• Utah Yetis
The team is hosting a fan party in the arena on Wednesday afternoon, and Smith and other club executives may have further details about the name to give when they hit the stage.
Hundreds of local kids hockey players greeted the former Coyotes players as they arrived in Salt Lake City earlier on Wednesday. Over the following few years, these kids will become the players’ fan base, and the players high-fived and signed autographs for them.
