Two teen suspects in Las Vegas homicide arrested in Salt Lake City
Two teenage suspects wanted in a homicide reported last week were arrested in Salt Lake City late Tuesday morning.
Transit officers stopped two people who hadn’t paid their fares after getting off the light rail in the downtown area, Utah Transit Authority spokesman Carl Arky said.
The officers ran a background check and found they were wanted out of the Las Vegas area.
18-year-old Aaron Guerrero and a 16-year-old female were taken into custody and will be extradited to face charges of open murder.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said they were investigating a homicide reported Friday in the 8400 block of Dunphy Court.
Officers found a burned body in a garage, LVMPD said, and investigators determined the victim was killed before the person or persons responsible tried to burn down the home.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 45-year-old Daniel Halseth of Las Vegas.
He died from sharp force injuries, according to the coroner’s office, and his death has been ruled a homicide.
