Utah Reports 2 New COVID-19 Deaths, 383 New Cases, 120 Current Hospitalizations

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Department of Health on Thursday reported 383 new cases of COVID-19 and two new deaths.
The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 366 per day, and the rolling seven-day average for percent of positive lab tests is 8.7%. The state has tested 642,761 people, and 50,557 of those tests returned positive.
There are currently 120 patients hospitalized with the virus, 41 of which are in intensive care units. Another 14 patients are currently hospitalized as COVID-19 persons under investigation. UDOH reports 54.4% of all non-ICU beds and 64.9% of all ICU beds in Utah hospitals are occupied.
A total of 403 Utahns have died from the virus. The following deaths were reported Thursday:
- Male, between 64 and 85, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Male, between between 45 and 64, Salt Lake County resident, unknown if hospitalized at time of death
The state is considering 42,512 cases as recovered, meaning those patients received a positive diagnosis more than three weeks ago and they have not died.
