SALT LAKE CITY — Utahns turned out in massive numbers to vote in the 2020 election, according to data released by Governor-elect Spencer Cox and the state elections office.

The Board of Canvassers met on Monday to certify the results of the election. But Lt. Governor (and now Governor-elect) Cox reported a figure that was jaw-dropping: over 90% turnout among active, registered voters across the state. It’s an all-time high.

The Board of Electors will meet next month to certify the results of the presidential election. Utah’s six Electoral College votes will go for President Trump, who won the state with 58% of the vote to Joe Biden’s 38%.
