RIVERTON — A 81-year-old woman is dead after her car struck a power pole on Thursday afternoon near 12300 S. on Redwood Road, said Riverton police.
According to Riverton Police Chief Don Huston, the woman was driving northbound on Redwood Road when witnesses reported seeing the car veer off the road and into a power pole. Huston said that the woman may have veered due to a medical incident.
The woman was declared dead at the scene. The medical examiner’s office is investigating whether a medical issue was a contributing factor to the crash, Huston said.
