1st District Congressman-elect Blake Moore announces senior staff members

WASHINGTON — Congressman-elect Blake Moore, who will begin representing Utah’s 1st Congressional District in early January, has announced the members of his senior congressional staff.

“Our team will focus on constituent service and delivering results for the people of the First District. That takes team members who will think outside of the box and work hard to achieve our goals and represent First District values,” Moore said in a news release sent to FOX 13. “I can’t wait for our team to hit the ground running and couldn’t be more excited to serve northern Utah.”

Moore will replace Congressman Rob Bishop, who is retiring.

Moore’s campaign sent the following bios for Chief of Staff Rachel Wagley, Deputy Chief of Staff Chase K. Christiansen and District Director Peter Jenks:

Chief of Staff: Rachel Wagley
Rachel serves in the Office of Congresswoman Ann Wagner (MO-02), where she has led an aggressive policy agenda and crafted and helped pass into law notable pieces of legislation including the Elie Wiesel Genocide and Atrocities Prevention Act and the Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act (FOSTA-SESTA), the first-ever amendment to section 230 of the Communications Decency Act and the most consequential anti-trafficking legislation in nearly 20 years.

She negotiated the inclusion of the “Wagner Language” on online sex trafficking in the digital trade chapter of the USMCA and was awarded Rescue Freedom International’s Wilberforce Award for Exceptional Achievement in Policy.

On behalf of the Congresswoman, she co-founded the Congressional Caucus on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the House Suburban Caucus.

Prior to her tenure on Capitol Hill, Rachel served as the Director of Government Relations at the National Bureau of Asian Research and Policy Director at U.S. Campaign for Burma.

She graduated from Harvard University cum laude with high honors in field, served as a Fulbright grantee in Thailand, and earned her Master of Arts Degree in Defense and Strategic Studies with Distinction at the U.S. Naval War College.

She lives with her husband and two children in the D.C. area and is from Spokane, Washington.

Deputy Chief of Staff: Chase K. Christiansen
Chase worked as an advisor to the Blake Moore for Congress campaign, focusing on marketing and communications strategy.

As a native of Hooper, Utah, Christiansen previously worked in marketing roles for Cicero Group, the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development, and several small businesses within Utah’s outdoor recreation industry.

He served as a community board member for Emerging Leaders Initiative of Utah and was on the Board of Trustees for the Bicycle Collective where he earned the Presidential Volunteer Service award.

Chase earned his Bachelor of Science in Communication from Weber State University. He is happily married and expecting his first child.

District Director: Peter Jenks
