Provo, Utah – After a brawl broke out during a flag football game at Harmon Park in Provo on September 30, three persons have been taken into custody and charged.
Due to their involvement in the altercation, Alan Talanoa, 22, and Dlamyn Maalosi Kumulani Notoa, 24, were each charged with one count of aggravated assault, a second-degree felony.
Darman Fatufane P. Notoa, 26, was accused of obstructing justice on one count after providing false information to the police. On Thursday, October 17, all three were filed charges in the Fourth District Court.
A couple of players collided on a “hail Mary” play during a flag football game in Harmon Park, next to Peaks Ice Arena, on September 30, according to Provo police, which escalated tensions. According to the police, multiple witnesses saw the 22-year-old Talanoa punch a man in the face and cause him to pass out.
After the incident, the man had memory loss and sustained a concussion. Witnesses also saw Dlamyn Notoa punch a person in the face and grip them by the neck, causing them to lose consciousness and get a concussion.
Darman Notoa, Dlamyn’s brother, altered the final digit of his phone number when Provo police called him to collect the 24-year-old’s number so they could talk to him about the incident. Furthermore, according to Darman, Dlamyn Notoa was not the person in the video.
