Caution is advised for drivers on the mountain routes in northern Utah
Salt Lake City, Utah – Snowfall that occurred overnight in the region is causing anyone who are planning to climb the mountains in northern Utah on Sunday to be cautioned to exercise extreme caution.
In spite of the fact that traction laws have been relaxed on State Routes 190 and 210 in the Little Cottonwood and Big Cottonwood canyons, the Utah Department of Transportation has stated that this could change at any time.
On Sunday, there is still a chance that both canyons will receive an additional one to three inches of snow.
Both routes continue to have slushy road conditions, particularly in the upper canyons. This remains the case throughout both trips. Corners and steep terrain are two places where drivers should be on the lookout for slick spots.
During the hours leading up to sunrise, the roads in Little Cottonwood Canyon were covered in snow, and the weather conditions made it relatively risky to travel to both the Alta and Snowbird ski resorts.
