Salt Lake City, Utah – Just a few days after we exceeded 100 degrees Fahrenheit for the first time this year, a cold front is moving through the whole state of Utah, causing some areas of the state to experience temperatures below freezing.

At seven o’clock on Sunday, June 16, temperatures in Salt Lake City were already seventeen degrees Fahrenheit lower than they had been at the same time on Saturday.

Monday’s high temperature will be 76 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 13 degrees lower than Saturday’s high temperature of 89 degrees Fahrenheit.

Salt Lake City will be slammed by the cold front at about eleven o’clock in the morning, and southern Utah will be hammered later in the evening. The cold front will pass into northern Utah from the northeast on Monday morning.

At this time, it is not anticipated that the front will bring any moisture back with it.

By Tuesday, temperatures will have dropped even more, with a high of 68 degrees Fahrenheit in Salt Lake City.

A Freeze Warning was issued by the National Weather Service for sections of the Wasatch Back, including Park City, Huntsville, and Heber City, beginning on Monday night and continuing until Tuesday morning.

The temperatures in these regions are forecast to be at or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

It has been cautioned by the authorities that these conditions could potentially kill or damage crops.

The Cache, Rush, and Sanpete valleys are all susceptible to the occurrence of frost.
