Family displaced after Roy home destroyed by fire
Roy, Utah — A large fire destroyed a house in Weber County Saturday morning.
According to officials with the Roy City Fire & Rescue, crews were called to the home at 5581 South 3200 West after 5 a.m. Saturday.
Upon arrival, crews found the fire fully involved on the main and top floors, and in the roof.
Flames 20 to 30 feet high were coming from the top of the home. A neighboring home was damaged because of the intense heat.
At first fire, officials reported it was a vacant house under renovation, but it turns out, there was a family living there. No one was hurt, but the family was displaced.
Firefighters from the Clinton City, Hill Air Force Base, Weber Fire District, and the Weber Area Dispatch 911 & Emergency Services District responded to the home to assist.
Officer from the Roy City Police Department was also on hand.
At this time the cause of the fire is under investigation.
