West Valley City, Utah – Election Day is just a few days away. On Thursday, a large number of Beehive State residents are going to the polls to cast their early ballots in locations including Salt Lake City and West Valley.

“It is our duty as citizens of the United States to do that. Casey LeBeau, a native of West Valley City, stated, “That’s, this is, this is what makes this country, the greatest country in the world.”
LeBeau stated on Thursday that he believes this election to be the most significant one in his life. To cast his ballot, he went to West Valley City Hall.

The same may be said for Sandy resident Da’Jon Lang.

“Since I spent so much time researching and everything like that, I come to a point where I feel pretty comfortable with, with where I’m at,” Lang stated.

For people like LeBeau, the decision causes considerable worry because there are several races, including the chance to choose our 47th president.

“Anxiety is the perfect word to use, you know, it’s just that it’s, you feel not quite right, but like, you know, you still to like push through,” LeBeau remarked.

Dr. Douglas Goldsmith has 35 years of experience as a certified psychologist.

“I think what we’re seeing this cycle is people have been so stressed, they’re so tired,” stated Dr. Goldsmith. “There’s tremendous amount of angst about it.”

Over the past few months, Dr. Goldsmith says he has been talking to his clients and their families about the election.

“I’m talking about 80 to 100 families,” Dr. Goldsmith stated. “I’m even hearing this from kids that the kids are saying, I’m worried that if one wins or the other wins, I’m going to be in danger, I’m worried about what’s going to happen to our family.”

“One is the parents need to really be mindful that their children have been listening with half an ear and many of them are really anxious,” stated Dr. Goldsmith. “I really encourage adults to realize that worrying and anxiety isn’t going to change the outcome of the election.”

Regarding voters, such as LeBeau and Lang.

“Hopefully things do run smoothly and you know, and it is over and we can put this behind us and keep moving forward as a country,” Lang stated.

“It would be nice for it to be over just to, like, at least not have that tension for sure,” LeBeau said.
