St. George City Hall is one step closer to being finished
St. George, Utah – On Friday, the final piece of the bones of St. George’s brand-new City Hall, which cost $45 million, was being assembled.
The typical last beam was raised on the building, which would be more than twice as large as the city’s current headquarters. The traditional last beam was raised with the signatures of city employees and construction workers who were present at the site.
The moment they built the foundation for the first time, you were thinking to yourself, ‘Is this truly that large or not?’ According to Michele Randall, the Mayor of St. George.
Then, when you finally get a glimpse of it being constructed, you think to yourself, ‘This is a really enormous building.'”
The historic City Hall, which was constructed three blocks to the north and was constructed in 1980, when the city had ten percent of the population that it does now, will be replaced by the new City Hall, which will be located across from Town Square and the St. George Tabernacle.
It is anticipated that it will open in October of the following year.
