This fall, Utah is the favorite to win the Big 12 Football Conference expansion

Utah – Based on the results of a preseason survey conducted among media members who cover the Big 12 football conference, Utah has been selected as the team that will finish first in the expanded 16-team football conference this fall.

In the poll that was announced on Tuesday, a week before the beginning of the league’s football media days in Las Vegas, the Utes received twenty of the sixty-one votes that were cast for first place. Kansas State received 19 votes for first place and was selected as the second team, ahead of Oklahoma State, who finished as the runner-up in the Big 12 last year and received 14 votes for first place. The last two of the top five were Arizona (three votes) and Kansas (five votes for first place).

The Pac-12 teams This week, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah became formal members of the Big 12 Conference. At the same time, Texas and Oklahoma, the defending champions of the Big 12 Conference, joined the Southeastern Conference.

In the preseason poll, Colorado and coach Deion Sanders were ranked eleventh, and Arizona State was ranked sixteenth.

The results of the survey placed Brigham Young University in thirteenth place.

An additional announcement was made by the league on its preseason individual awards, with Oklahoma State’s Ollie Gordon II, who won the NCAA running championship, being named the offensive player of the year.

It was determined that Travis Hunter, a defensive back for Colorado who has also played receiver for the Buffaloes, was the best offensive player of the year. KJ Jefferson, a former quarterback for Arkansas who is currently playing for the University of Central Florida, was selected as the newcomer of the year.
