Salt Lake County, Utah— On New Year’s Day, Utah’s Highway Patrol saved an owl that had been hit in I-215 in Salt Lake County.
Corporal Kris Cope took the owl that was struck by a truck. He named him Owlpacino and was taking care of him for the night.
Cope also went above and beyond the call of duty, finding a home for Owlpacino at the Wildlife Rescue Center of Northern Utah in Ogden.
With thanks to Corporal Cope for his compassion, UHP is hopeful the bird makes a full recovery.
