Utah Reports 463 New COVID-19 Cases, 2 New Deaths, 129 Current Hospitalizations

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Department of Health on Friday reported 463 new cases of COVID-19 and two additional deaths.
The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 351 per day. The rolling seven-day average for percent of positive laboratory tests is 8.9%. The state has tested 619,397 people so far, and 48,445 of those tests returned positive.
A total of 129 patients are currently hospitalized, 58 of which are in intensive care units. Another 26 patients are currently hospitalized as COVID-19 persons under investigation. UDOH reports 52.5% of all non-ICU beds and 64.4% of all ICU beds in Utah hospitals are occupied.
So far, 383 Utahns have died from the virus. The following deaths were reported Friday:
- Male, between 65 and 84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Male, between 65 and 84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized prior to death
The state is considering 39,867 cases as recovered, meaning those patients received a positive diagnosis more than three weeks ago and they have not died.
