2 in custody after gun stolen in West Jordan pawn shop burglary
West Jordan, Utah — Tuesday a man and a juvenile, were taken into custody after a gun was stolen from Xtreme Pawn, in West Jordan.
According to Sgt. Scott Ellison, WJPD, officers were called to the scene at 2:54 a.m., and additional agencies responded to help set up containment. The store is located in a strip mall at about 7100 S. Redwood Road.
Elison says the two suspects left the pawn shop with one gun. One suspect was taken into custody shortly later. It took longer to find the second, who had escaped into the neighborhood, according to Elison.
The stolen gun was found later. At the time of apprehension neither suspect was armed, the sergeant said.
Elison was unsure if it was the juvenile or adult suspect who was apprehended first, he said.
The name of the adult has not yet been released, Elison said Tuesday afternoon, because the suspect had not yet been booked into jail.
Names of juvenile suspects typically are not released due to their age.
