Fundraiser helping family of teen shot in West Valley City
West Valley City, Utah — Following last week’s fatal shooting in West Valley City, a live charity event is raising money for a teenager hospitalized.
After the shooting last week that left two other teens dead, Ephraim Asiata has been recovering.
Asiata’s father, Matt, appeared from his son’s hospital room for a short time to thank everyone for their support and the money raised for their family.
The event started at 6 p.m. and will continue through 6 p.m. Friday.
Special guests such as former Real Salt Lake player Nick Rimando and Utah Jazz great Deron Williams are participating, with the event being hosted by artist Johnathan Miller.
