A Richfield man faces federal charges related to evidence of child sex abuse

Richfield, Utah – Federal charges have been brought against a Richfield man who was reportedly found in possession of items related to child sex abuse in his residences.
Court documents state that the suspect, 72-year-old Brian Lee Reeve, was meeting with a woman to talk about a meal delivery service. The witness allegedly discovered multiple “sexually explicit photos” of a minor hanging on the living room wall while inside his apartment.
Reeve reportedly snatched up and stored the pictures as soon as he realized they were visible.
When police arrived at Reeve’s apartment and asked him about the pictures, he allegedly denied knowing about them. Officers found two sexually explicit images of a minor that did not match the ones in the woman’s complaint after Reeve allegedly agreed to a search of his house.
After executing a search warrant for Reeve’s apartment, detectives allegedly discovered a cardboard box in the bedroom containing additional photographs, some of which matched the complaint. Then, Reeves allegedly acknowledged concealing the child sex abuse materials by placing them inside the package.
After being securely placed under arrest, Reeves was charged with eleven counts of second-degree criminal sexual exploitation of a juvenile. Since then, he has been charged with both producing and possessing child pornography in a federal court in the United States.
