Officials warn of slick ice in American Fork Canyon

Utah County, Utah — According to Lone Peak Fire District officials, they responded Saturday to help rescue a woman in American Fork Canyon.
She had fallen on ice and Utah County Search and Rescue was requested, they said. Search and rescue teams were luckily already in the canyon training at the time.
In order to assist in the rescue, officials brought crampons, which are spikes that hook to your shoes.
The patient was transported to the hospital after rescue teams bring her down to the ambulance.
“People it’s SLICKERY out there!” fire district officials warned on social media.
