Second case of omicron variant confirmed in Utah

Salt Lake City, Utah — Utah confirmed a second case of the omicron variant of COVID-19.
According to the Utah Department of Health, the fully-vaccinated male between 25-44 years old, but had yet to receive a booster.
The state’s first omicron case was reported last Friday. UDOH confirmed it was a person who tested positive for the variant after returning home from South Africa.
The person had experienced only mild symptoms and was quarantined at home.
