The risk of avalanches in Utah mountains is very high
Salt Lake City, Utah – Over the next two days, avalanche hazards will continue to be high throughout Utah. Six of the nine regions they monitor were rated as “High” hazards by the Utah Avalanche Center, which released its danger rating for Utah mountains.
The Utah Avalanche Center has classified Logan, Uintas, Salt Lake, Ogden, Provo, and Skyline as high danger. Additionally, Moab is classified as having a significant risk of avalanches.
Widespread areas of unstable snow have been caused by heavy snow and high winds, according to the National Weather Service.
A summary of all the regions affected by the warnings is available here.
It is recommended that Utah residents stay away from any avalanche terrain. The Utah Avalanche Center received around two dozen avalanche reports on Sunday.
