Trump easily wins Utah caucuses on Super Tuesday
Salt Lake City, Utah – With a resounding win in the Utah caucuses on Super Tuesday, former President Donald Trump resumed his ascent to become the Republican Party’s nominee in November.
Decision Desk HQ reported that with 97% of caucuses completed, Trump will receive Utah’s 40 delegates as the winner of the presidential choice survey conducted during party caucus sessions.
Trump has 57% of the vote as of 8:30 a.m., while Nikki Haley is in second place with 42%.
This year, the state’s Republican Party chose to utilize caucuses instead of the primary election that it had previously used.
In Utah, Trump comfortably defeated Nikki Haley in the Super Tuesday election, which was held in fifteen states. Although the former President’s victory was inevitable, the process was not, as there were numerous problems at the state’s caucuses.
Given that Trump received 58 percent of the vote in the 2020 election compared to incumbent President Joe Biden, the outcome was virtually certain for him regardless of the primary or caucus format.
“I want to thank all the candidates who participated, our dedicated organizers and volunteers, and especially the caucus-goers, even when dealing with long lines and some hiccups to the check-in process in some locations,” said Utah GOP Chairman Robert Axson.
